Ledgent is working with a manufacturing client in Saint Paul adding a transactional Senior Accountant to their team. The ideal profile would have 3-4+ years of full-cycle accounting including AP/AR, month-end, Sales & Use Tax, and some inventory experience within a manufacturing environment (or similar industry doing inventory).

Job Description:
- Oversee the preparation and review of forms related to contractors, such as 1099 forms and Form 1096, ensuring proper filing and compliance with regulations.
- Provide leadership and support to team members, guiding them through daily accounting operations and ensuring adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
- Handle tax compliance for multiple locations, including the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns, while staying current on regulatory changes.
- Manage financial transactions related to customers, such as sales invoicing, credit memos, approving customer credits, and releasing orders for processing.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing journal entries for accruals and adjustments, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate multi-location inventory management, including monthly reconciliation of raw materials and WIP inventory, transfers between locations, and quarterly finished goods counts.
- Supervise and manage freight-related accounting, ensuring proper reconciliation of accrued expenses, calculation of broker income, sales commissions, and tracking of rebates.
- Serve as backup for the senior accounting leader in their absence, ensuring continuity of financial processes and operations.
- Reconcile various types of expenses, including credit card transactions, expense reports, prepaid expenses, and asset tracking.
- Maintain detailed financial records, including fixed asset documentation, depreciation schedules, and raw material invoices.
- Oversee and manage accounts receivable (AR) and collections processes, ensuring timely payments from customers and resolution of any billing issues.;
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years of accounting experience
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience (preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, and financial modeling
- Proficiency with accounting software (Business Central experience a plus)
- Experience in manufacturing, inventory reconciliation, tax filing, and month/year-end closing procedures
